Representative Director
Mickey Mikitani

The results of the election represent another severe situation for the current administration and ruling parties, following last year’s House of Representatives election. With the ruling coalition now losing its majority in both houses, the future composition of the government remains uncertain. While paying monitoring developments we hereby express our expectations for upcoming government management:

1. Japan currently faces a crossroads, as declining international competitiveness and a visible digital deficit due to delays in digital transformation. To overcome these difficulties and make Japan a country where people, knowledge and capital gather from all over the world, it is imperative to implement fundamental structural reforms that break away from existing conventions and enable the private sector to fully exert its potential.

2. We strongly hope that the government will proactively and without delay address urgent issues that JANE has long advocated, including fundamental tax reform, restructuring of regulatory frameworks to match the times, acceleration of regional revitalization, the creation of work environments that respect individual motivation, and the strategic utilization of international talent.

As a startup among business associations, JANE will continue to actively make policy proposals so that the private sector’s potential is fully realized and Japan’s economy can develop further on an equal footing with the rest of the world.
