Cutting-edge Business Seminar in Diet – Open RAN: A Challenge to Strengthen Japan’s Global Competitiveness and Economic Security” hosted by JANE
On Wednesday, November 15, Japan Association of New Economy (JANE) held the “Cutting-edge Business Seminar in Diet” in the conference room of the First House of Representatives Building of the House of Representatives.
This time, Mickey Mikitani (Chairman and President, Rakuten Group, Inc., Representative Director of JANE) gave a lecture titled “Open RAN: Challenges to Strengthen Japan’s Global Competitiveness and Economic Security.
In the lecture, Mickey and other speakers gave an overview of Open RAN and its benefits, and introduced programs related to Open RAN in abroad, including the United States and the United Kingdom. In addition, Mickey explained that Open RAN will enhance Japan’s global competitiveness and economic security.
During the Q&A session, questions were raised about the future of satellite communications and the prospects for Rakuten Symphony’s overseas expansion, leading to a very active discussion.
This seminar was attended by a total of about 150 people, including members of the Diet, members of diplomatic missions in Tokyo and representatives of JANE member companies, together with many attendees of the press. After the speeches, there was a networking opportunity between the Diet members and member companies, and the seminar ended on a high note.
