The Japan Association of New Economy (JANE) organizes various events as part of its outreach activities to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and globalization in the wider society. The New Economy Summit (NEST) annually gathers global innovators and entrepreneurs at the forefront of the new economy and industry to discuss and anticipate future trends. The KANSAI Summit was launched in 2016 as a regional spin-off of NEST with a focus on western regions of Japan. The Shippairyoku (courage to fail) Conference aims to encourage the culture of challenge and risk taking through talks by successful entrepreneurs about their own experiences of failure and lessons learnt. JANE also regularly hosts closed seminars for its members, inviting expert speakers to discuss latest economic or business trends as well as policies and regulatory issues.
